Meet Steve Haggard, General Manager
Steve is the general manager of the Kitimat Golf and Winter Club. The site has been an active recreation and social spot since 1969 and Steve loves being a part of it. He appreciates all the wonderful people that he is able to meet, teach and socialize through his workplace. “I am proud of the fun atmosphere in our facility and the enjoyment we get to provide for everybody, both the members and the general public,” said Steve.
Seeing people relaxing at the clubhouse and enjoying the views and the service is rewarding for Steve and the other staff at the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club. Steve genuinely enjoys his work and is looking at expanding the recreational site to include tobogganing, snowshoeing and cross country trails.
Steve spent 10 years as a youth in Houston and first came to Kitimat for recreational hockey tournaments. He choose to settle in Kitimat because he loves the many options for recreation and the easy access to the outdoors. Steve believes Kitimat has everything – golfing, curling, fishing, hiking and more. His favourite spot, besides the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club, is anywhere along the Kitimat River.
