For The Diva In You

Carol Dale has lived in Kitimat for more than 35 years and knows just about everyone, and probably their parents, grandparents or siblings, too. Small communities are like that, and it is one of the things that Carol loves about Kitimat. "I go to the grocery store and it takes me an hour to get groceries because I stop and catch up with everyone!" laughs Carol.

Carol raised her own family here, and now her daughter, Meaghan Dale, is also her business partner. The business started as a small, home-based operation inspired by the Red Hat Society. Carol created customized, hand-decorated red hats, and her iconic and sought-after red hats are still a big part of her business. These days, she and Meaghan work from their Kitimat retail space that is well-known around town for its distinctive displays. The shop carries a variety of clothing and accessories for women, all carefully selected to appeal to the diva in every woman.

Both Carol and Meaghan appreciate the opportunity to be entrepreneurs and to provide a valuable service to the Kitimat community. For Meaghan, the shop is an investment in her future, while for Carol, it is the fulfillment of a retirement dream. They enjoy the creativity that comes with owning a ladies clothing store and all of the pretty things they get to work with. They put a lot of detail into the store's decor and displays and customers regularly comment how much they love it.
